After breakfast, visit to the town and its traditional artisan market. Later, we begin our trek through a wide and picturesque horseshoe-shaped road, all the while surrounded by wild vegetation, then to continue along a calm trail on the left-side of the mountain. The farther we go from the village, the prettier the landscape becomes and narrower the road, gradually ascending as we pass through the town of Siwa.
The trail gets steeper upon reaching the second pass (4200m), making the going harder for the next 30 to 40 minutes, nevertheless rewarding us with spectacular views of Pisac, Coya, Lamay, Calca and the surrounding mountains.
After lunch, we continue across the community of Pukamarca and into the Leon Punku Canyon, where remnants of a trail that served as point of entrance to Huchuyqosqo complex can be seen. Inside the canyon, we see the bases of an Inca bridge.
In our way out, after crossing the Rakakay River, we enjoy a stunning view of the canyon and its wild vegetation. Visit to the Archaeological Park. Previous coordination with local people of the Huchuyqosqo village, we set our campsite at their land. Dinner.
